বেগম জিয়ার সবশেষ শারীরিক অবস্থা জানালেন ডা. জাহিদ

সাবেক প্রধানমন্ত্রী ও বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার শারীরিক অবস্থা স্থিতিশীল বলে জানিয়েছেন তার ব্যক্তিগত চিকিৎসক ও দলের স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য ডা. এ জেড এম জাহিদ হোসেন।

বৃহস্পতিবার (১৮ ডিসেম্বর) দুপুরে এভারকেয়ারের সামনে সাংবাদিকদের এ তথ্য জানান তিনি।

জাহিদ হোসেন বলেন, বেগম জিয়াকে যে চিকিৎসা দেয়া হচ্ছে তা তিনি গ্রহণ করতে পারছেন। চিকিৎসকরাসহ সবাই অত্যন্ত আশাবাদী বেগম খালেদা জিয়া সুস্থ হয়ে যাবেন।

বাংলাদেশ, যুক্তরাষ্ট্র ও যুক্তরাজ্যের চিকিৎসকরা আছেন জানিয়ে তিনি বলেন, প্রতিদিন তারা বেগম জিয়ার স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা করছেন। 

বিএনপির স্থায়ী কমিটির এ সদস্য আরও জানান, ডা. জুবাইদা রহমান সার্বক্ষণিক তদারকি করছেন। তার (বেগম জিয়ার) ছোট ভাই, বোন সবাই খোঁজ নিচ্ছেন। যেহেতু সিসিইউতে আছেন তাই তার পাশে থাকা যাচ্ছে না। দেশবাসীর কাছে দোয়া চাই, যেন তিনি তাড়াতাড়ি সুস্থ হয়ে ওঠেন।  

চলতি বছরের ২১ নভেম্বর সশস্ত্র বাহিনী দিবসে অংশ নিয়েছিলেন বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়া। সেদিন স্বেচ্ছায় অনুষ্ঠানে যোগ দেয়া বেগম জিয়াকে বেশ হাস্যোজ্জ্বল দেখা যায়।

তার একদিন পরেই শ্বাসকষ্টের জটিলতা প্রকট হওয়ায় ঘটে স্বাস্থ্যের অবনতি। ২৩ নভেম্বর ভর্তি হন রাজধানীর এভারকেয়ার হাসপাতালে। সংক্রমণ ছড়িয়ে পড়ে হার্ট এবং ফুসফুসে। অবস্থার আরও অবনতি হলে তাকে স্থানান্তর করা হয় সিসিইউতে। এখন পর্যন্ত দেশি-বিদেশি ডাক্তারদের সমন্বয়ে গঠিত একটি বিশেষায়িত মেডিকেল বোর্ডের অধীনে তার চিকিৎসা চলমান রয়েছে।

Zahid Hossain said that Begum Zia is able to accept the treatment being given to her. Everyone, including the doctors, is very optimistic that Begum Khaleda Zia will recover.

Stating that there are doctors from Bangladesh, the US and the UK, he said that they are checking Begum Zia's health every day.

This member of the BNP Standing Committee also said that Dr. Zubaida Rahman is supervising her around the clock. Her (Begum Zia's) younger brothers and sisters are all looking for her. Since she is in the CCU, she cannot be by her side. I ask for prayers from the countrymen so that she recovers quickly.

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia participated in the Armed Forces Day on November 21 this year. Begum Zia, who voluntarily joined the program that day, was seen smiling.

A day later, her health deteriorated as respiratory complications became apparent. He was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital on November 23. The infection spread to his heart and lungs. When his condition deteriorated further, he was transferred to the CCU. Until now, his treatment is ongoing under a specialized medical board consisting of local and foreign doctors.
